Cultivation Technician Job Description

The Cultivation Technician is a crucial member of our team, responsible for ensuring the health and well-being of our cannabis plants throughout their entire life cycle. This includes germination, vegetative growth, flowering, and harvest.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Clone, plant, water, fertilize, and prune plants, shrubs, and trees using hand tools and gardening equipment.
  • Harvest plants, transplant or pot, and label them as needed.
  • Record information about plants and plant growth in our software tracking system.
  • Monitor plant health by inspecting leaves and noting any signs of insects or disease.
  • Fill growing tanks with water and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Inspect plants and bud ties to assess quality and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Perform daily room checks to ensure all plants are receiving proper care.
  • Transplant plants into larger containers as needed and trim plants in the vegetative stage.
  • Wash and sanitize equipment, returning it to the Clean Room.
  • Harvest and trim flowering plants, and stake weak plants to promote healthy growth.
  • Examine plants for signs of pests or disease and take corrective action as needed.
Requirements:
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a related position, preferably in an operations production/manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of medical cannabis and cannabis-infused product production from seed to sell, or a background in horticulture with a willingness to learn.
  • Experience with inventory control methods and strong interpersonal skills, including listening, negotiation, and conflict management.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop strong relationships and work with senior-level executives.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Additional Information:

This is a non-exempt position with minimal travel required. The job requires physical activity, including prolonged standing, repetitive bending, climbing, and lifting or moving up to 10 pounds. Good visual acuity, hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, and ability to perform repetitive motions with accuracy are required.
