Job Summary:

The Senior Director of Major Gifts will be responsible for managing a portfolio of prospects to support and grow major gift activity for institutional priorities. This role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Build a portfolio of 100-125 major gift prospects through ongoing identification, qualification, and cultivation efforts.
  2. Develop and execute an annual business plan to meet financial and activity goals.
  3. Work closely with faculty members to develop and articulate philanthropic priorities and identify potential donors.
  4. Cultivate and solicit prospects for major gifts, using a range of strategies and tactics.
  5. Collaborate with colleagues across the institution to coordinate activities in support of major gift fundraising.
  6. Support the work of other major gift colleagues and contribute to the overall success of the development team.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree and at least 5 years of experience in major gift fundraising or a related field.
  • Excellent judgment, sensitivity to interpersonal dynamics, and strong communication skills.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in major gift fundraising from individuals and families in an academic medical center is preferred.
