Overview of the Role

At Region V Services, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Specialist to provide essential training and support services for individuals with disabilities in their homes and community locations.

About the Job

This is a full-time position offering flexible scheduling options, including days, evenings, weekends, and overnights. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing personalized training programs, promoting individual growth and independence, and fostering positive relationships within the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement tailored training programs to enhance individual competencies and achieve desired outcomes
  • Collaborate with individuals, families, and team members to identify and address specific needs and goals
  • Maintain accurate records and data collection, ensuring accountability and compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Provide safe and supportive environments, adhering to federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Region V Services policies
  • Transport individuals to various community locations, promoting social integration and access to community resources
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent knowledge required; prior experience in human services preferred
  • Ability to lift or utilize adaptive equipment, if necessary
  • Valid driver's license in Nebraska or alternative transportation means
  • Criminal history APS and CPS background check required; may be subject to drug and alcohol screening
