Overview

Duke University is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join our team in the Duke Department of Pediatrics - Division of Hematology/Oncology.

The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled and compassionate provider who can work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.

About the Role

This is a full-time opportunity for an experienced Advanced Practice Provider to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of patients, from pediatric to adolescent populations, with disorders in General Oncology, Retinoblastoma, and Cancer Predisposition.

The Advanced Practice Provider will be responsible for providing direct patient care services, performing consultations, collecting and documenting data, assisting in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and ordering and scheduling laboratory studies.

Responsibilities:

  • Care for patients with complex medical conditions, including those requiring chemotherapy and radiation therapy.
  • Conduct thorough patient histories, physical examinations, and document findings in the patient's record.
  • Order and schedule laboratory studies and explain results to patients and families.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and provide education to patients and their families.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Perform various procedures, including bone marrow biopsies and lumbar punctures.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or Master's degree in Nursing required; Master's degree preferred.
  • National certification as a Nurse Practitioner required prior to or within 6 months of employment.
  • Current RN licensure in the state of North Carolina or compact licensure.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as an Advanced Practice Provider, preferably in Pediatric or Oncology.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $150,000 per year, commensurate with experience. Benefits include comprehensive health insurance, paid time off, and retirement savings plan.
