Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Certified Phlebotomy Technician to join our team at Sutter Health. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for collecting blood specimens for various laboratory tests using age-appropriate techniques.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect blood specimens from patients of diverse ages and backgrounds.
  • Interact with patients in a compassionate and effective manner.
  • Operate and/or use basic pre-analytic lab equipment.
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures to ensure patient privacy and safety.
  • Complete quality-related tasks, such as documentation of work, maintaining a clean and safe work area, and monitoring pending work.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
  • CA Licensed Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification.
  • Knowledge and practice of standard principles, processes, procedures, and equipment related to collecting blood specimens, interacting with patients, and handling biological specimens.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize job duties and assigned tasks for completion within expected timeframes.
  • Ability to accurately, precisely, and reliably perform job duties and assigned tasks.
Work Environment

This is a full-time position with a rotating weekend schedule. The pay range is $23.01 to $28.75 per hour. Sutter Health is an equal opportunity employer and offers a comprehensive benefits package.
