Academic Faculty Position in Philosophy

We are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated individual to join our Philosophy Department as a tenure-track Assistant Professor. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate courses, conducting research, and contributing to the department's academic and service missions.
Key Responsibilities- Teach 24 credit hours per contract year, including courses in philosophy of law, social/political philosophy, and Latin American philosophy
- Develop and maintain an active research agenda, with a focus on publishing scholarly articles and presenting at conferences
- Advise and mentor students, including undergraduate research projects and experiential learning opportunities
- Participate in department and college meetings, program assessment, curriculum planning, and new course development
- PhD in Philosophy, Philosophy of Law, or a related field by August 25
- Record of excellence in teaching philosophy to undergraduates, with a commitment to educating a diverse student population
- Demonstrated commitment to the University's Catholic and Lasallian mission values and to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Ability to teach in a department with a Continental orientation
- Area of Specialization (AOS): Open, with preference given to Latin American philosophy, philosophy of law, social/political philosophy, non-western philosophy, African American philosophy, or history of western philosophy
- Area of Competence (AOC): We have critical teaching needs in philosophy of law, philosophy of rights, and social/political philosophy
