Academic Leader

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Academic Leader to join our team as a Professor of Social Work at Lewis University. The successful candidate will provide academic leadership to the Social Work program, accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE), and demonstrate excellence in teaching, research, and service activities.

• Provide leadership and expertise in the field of Social Work.
• Teach 8 courses in the area of expertise each academic year.
• Lead course development and assessment, planning, quality, and CSWE accreditation processes.
• Engage in classroom observations, supervision, and evaluation of faculty.
• Report to the School Chair and participate in College, School, and Program committees.
• Develop an annual professional development plan for the program.
• Assist in the assignment and hiring of adjunct, part-time, and resident faculty.

• Master's degree in Social Work and an LCSW licensed clinical social worker.
• A minimum of two years' work experience in the field.
• A minimum of two years of teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate level.
• Experience teaching courses in social justice and social action, ethics and values in social work, human behavior, social welfare policy, diverse populations, and social sciences research.
• Experience in teaching online and/or using course learning management systems (LMS).
• Experience in course development and assessment, planning, quality, and CSWE accreditation processes.
• Experience working with a diverse population.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule.
• Demonstrated initial research portfolio that demonstrates promise in terms of generating a highly productive and impactful record including publications and external funding.

• Doctorate in Social Work preferred.
• Oral and written bilingual skills (English, Spanish) preferred.
