Dean of Academic Programs and Partnerships

The Universidad Carlos Albizu is seeking an experienced academic leader to fill the role of Dean of Academic Programs and Partnerships. This position offers a unique opportunity to develop and implement innovative academic programs that meet the needs of diverse populations and industries. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of new academic programs, collaborating with faculty and industry experts, and overseeing the design of credit and non-credit certificate programs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop new programs, including nursing variations, credit and non-credit certificates, and stackable credentials that address workforce needs.* Collaborate with faculty and industry experts to create curriculum frameworks that reflect our mission and commitment to serving diverse populations through culturally aware, interdisciplinary education.* Provide leadership and direction to academic departments, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.* Support faculty development by promoting the integration of technology and data-driven approaches to enhance student learning outcomes.* Oversee academic policies, program assessment, and accreditation standards to ensure continuous improvement and compliance.* Lead the Continuing Education division, ensuring relevant offerings that foster lifelong learning and support professional development for local and regional communities.* Develop flexible, stackable certificates that provide alternative pathways to credentials, aligning with community needs and labor market demands.* Build and maintain partnerships with healthcare organizations, technology firms, and community organizations to develop programs and create hands-on learning opportunities, internships, and job placements for students.* Represent the university in external settings, including conferences and professional associations, to enhance our visibility and align programs with industry needs and trends.
Requirements:
* Master's degree (Doctorate preferred) in a relevant field such as Higher Education Leadership, Psychology, Education, Health Sciences, Nursing, Social Work, or a related discipline.* Minimum of five years of experience in higher education administration with a proven track record in academic program development and curriculum management.* Demonstrated experience in expanding niche or interdisciplinary programs and in fields related to health sciences, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, or other emerging technologies.* Expertise in serving diverse and multilingual populations and incorporating culturally competent approaches into curriculum design.* Strong skills in data-driven decision-making, faculty support, budget management, and collaborative leadership.
