{"Job Title": "Department Chair - Aviation Science & Management", "Job Summary": "This position is responsible for leading the Department of Aviation Science and Management at Middle Georgia State University. The successful candidate will have a strong background in aviation science and management, with experience in departmental leadership and management. The Department Chair will oversee the development and implementation of the department's strategic plan, manage the department's budget, and provide leadership and guidance to faculty and staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to teaching, research, and service, and will be able to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff to achieve the department's goals.

Responsibilities:

* Develop and implement the department's strategic plan, in collaboration with faculty and staff
* Manage the department's budget, including budget planning, forecasting, and reporting
* Provide leadership and guidance to faculty and staff, including mentoring and professional development
* Oversee the development and implementation of new programs and initiatives, including curriculum development and assessment
* Collaborate with other departments and units across the university to advance the department's goals and objectives
* Represent the department at university and external events, including conferences and meetings

Requirements:

* Master's degree in Aviation Science and Management or a related field
* 3-5 years of experience in departmental leadership and management
* Strong background in aviation science and management, with experience in teaching, research, and service
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage complex budgets and projects

Preferred Qualifications:

* Doctoral degree in Aviation Science and Management or a related field
* Experience in curriculum development and assessment
* Experience in program evaluation and accreditation
