Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Behavioral Therapist to join the Shields Foundation team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Implement Treatment Plans: Create and execute comprehensive treatment plans to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Counsel and Advise: Provide guidance and support to clients and their families to help them navigate challenges and achieve their goals.
  • Establish Treatment Goals and Milestones: Collaborate with clients to set and work towards achievable objectives.
  • Prepare Progress Reports: Document client progress and provide regular updates to relevant parties.
  • Educate and Facilitate: Educate families and groups on mental health treatments and prevention programs, and facilitate referrals to other healthcare professionals as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in Counseling or Related Fields: Previous experience in counseling, social work, or a related field is required.
  • Conflict Resolution Skills: Ability to effectively resolve conflicts and manage challenging situations.
  • Compassionate and Caring Demeanor: A compassionate and caring approach is essential for building strong relationships with clients and their families.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary for effective collaboration and documentation.
