At Marathon Petroleum Corporation (MPC), we are dedicated to fostering a workplace that embraces innovation, values diverse viewpoints, nurtures talent, and promotes a cooperative team atmosphere.

About Us:

MPC provides internship experiences for ambitious college students seeking practical, hands-on exposure in their respective fields. Our operations are guided by core principles such as Safety and Environmental Stewardship, Integrity, Respect, Inclusion, and Collaboration. Interns collaborate closely with seasoned professionals, becoming integral members of diverse teams that drive value for our stakeholders. We believe that our business practices are as crucial as our financial outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Human Resources intern, you will engage in meaningful projects and responsibilities that contribute to your professional development. Interns may participate in various short-term initiatives tailored to the organization's current requirements. These projects can be collaborative or individually focused, allowing you to develop a comprehensive deliverable and presentation by the end of your internship.

Most interns in Human Resources will support the HR Business Partner team. In this capacity, you will gain insights into the roles of both hourly and salaried employees while addressing relevant challenges. As an HR Business Partner intern, you will have the chance to engage with client groups on matters such as performance management, employee relations, compensation, recruitment, training, diversity initiatives, policy implementation, program facilitation, data analysis, and workforce planning.

Additionally, interns may be assigned to a Center of Excellence (CoE) within the HR division, focusing on areas such as Talent Acquisition or Learning and Organizational Development.

Qualifications:

  • Enrollment in a graduate program for Human Resources or Labor & Industrial Relations
  • Strong academic track record
  • Authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis without requiring visa sponsorship
  • A valid driver's license is mandatory
  • Concurrent enrollment in a degree-seeking program throughout the internship
  • Military experience is advantageous
  • Compensation: Minimum - $21.06 per hour / Maximum - $34.74 per hour
