Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Neurodiagnostic Technologist to join our team at Akron Children's Hospital. As a key member of our diagnostic team, you will be responsible for operating electronic equipment to record electrical impulses in the brain, providing high-quality EEG studies, and assisting with NCS/EMGs.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collect and review patients' medical information to customize tests and ensure accurate results.
  2. Apply electrodes using the 10-20 system, ensuring proper placement and minimizing artifacts.
  3. Perform high-quality standard EEGs, adhering to technically adequate criteria.
  4. Identify and annotate artifacts or interferences, ensuring accurate data collection.
  5. Record, review, and organize EEG data, providing detailed reports for medical professionals.
  6. Provide excellent patient care and customer service, understanding the importance of EEG in brain function evaluation.
  7. Maintain and troubleshoot diagnostic equipment, ensuring optimal performance and minimizing downtime.
  8. Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for patients' physical, psychological, social, educational, and safety needs.
  9. Collaborate with department management to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
  10. Participate in quality and continuing education initiatives, staying up-to-date with the latest EEG techniques and technologies.
  11. Assist with operative monitoring of patients undergoing invasive electrode implantation.
  12. Develop and maintain expertise in neurodiagnostic testing, staying current with industry developments.

Requirements:

  1. Experience in EEG testing and procedures is essential.
  2. Healthcare experience is preferred.
  3. Proficiency in MS Office or similar software is required, with EPIC software preferred.

Education and Experience:

    1. High school diploma or equivalent is required.
    2. Graduate of an accredited Electroneurodiagnostic Program or job-structured EEG training is required.
    3. EEG registration (R. EEG T.) is required, with healthcare provider BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
    4. 3 years of relevant experience is preferred, with no supervisory experience required.

Work Environment:

Full-time position, 36 hours/week, with variable shifts available. Onsite work environment.
