Job Summary

As a key member of the Samaritan Health Services team, the Nutrition Services Manager will oversee the planning, organization, and coordination of the Nutrition Services Department. This role requires effective management of the food service system, including budgeting, controlling, and evaluating all phases of the operation.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct management of the Nutrition Services Department, ensuring efficient and effective operations.
  • Develop and implement nutrition therapy plans for individuals and groups, working closely with healthcare teams to meet patient needs.
  • Lead educational programs, including classes and one-on-one counseling, to promote healthy eating habits and nutrition awareness.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to facilitate meal service, catering, and nutritional supplies for employees and patients.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including food safety and handling protocols.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited dietetic program, with completion of an accredited dietetic internship.
  • Current unencumbered Oregon Dietetic Licensure/Registered Dietitian through the CDR or RD eligible, with a commitment to obtaining Registered Dietitian and Oregon Dietitian License within six months of hire.
  • Two years of experience in nutrition/food services, with a minimum of one year in direct leadership.
  • Successful completion of a Food Handler's course or ServSafe certification within 30 days of hire.

  • Leadership experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong communication and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective solutions.
