Job Overview:

As a Specimen Technician with TAG MedStaffing, you will play a vital role in the Specimen Processing Department. Your primary responsibilities will include data entry, specimen sorting, and providing essential lab support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Specimen Processing: Perform tasks such as A-station, presort, centrifugation, aliquoting, and delivery of specimens to the laboratory.
  • Data Entry: Enter alphanumeric data with accuracy, ensuring productivity and quality standards are met.
  • Compliance: Stay up-to-date with compliance regulations related to test ordering, which may change frequently.
  • Communication: Maintain effective communication with staff, uphold safety protocols, and keep the work area clean in a biohazard environment.
  • Flexibility: Adapt to varying demands, including potential weekend, holiday, on-call, and overtime shifts as needed.

Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma required.
  • Experience: 6+ months of experience in a healthcare laboratory or healthcare-related data entry role required.
  • Skills: Basic computer knowledge, strong organizational skills, and familiarity with medical terminology.
  • Medical Background: Preferred but not required; understanding of clinical laboratory testing and specimen processing is a plus.
  • Location Requirement: Must reside within a 20-25 minute commute for flexible coverage.
