Job Description:

This Advanced Practice Provider will play a vital role in our nationally recognized pediatric program at Primary Children's Hospital. The ideal candidate will have experience working with the Pediatric Hem/Onc/BMT population, although those with prior APP experience or Hem/Onc/BMT experience may be considered.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and evaluate patients, developing care plans and managing prescriptions.
  • Manage and order chemotherapy and infusions, coordinate home care needs, and educate patients and families.
  • Communicate with consulting services, coordinate patient follow-up, and complete procedures such as lumbar punctures and bone marrow aspirates.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and department research.
Requirements:
  • Current state license as an Advance Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant.
  • Certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
  • Eligible for State Controlled Substance License II through V.
  • Eligible for Federal DEA Certificate II through V.
  • BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers.
  • Other certification as required (e.g. ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NRP).
Work Environment:

This is a full-time, fully benefits-eligible position with a schedule that includes weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Orientation will occur on day shift, with a transition to a night role upon completion of orientation.
