POSITION SUMMARY

The University of Sioux Falls is seeking a dedicated professional to fill the role of Strength and Conditioning Assistant. This position plays a crucial role in supporting the athletic program by providing comprehensive strength and conditioning services to student-athletes. The successful candidate will work closely with the Director of Strength and Conditioning to develop and execute effective training programs tailored to enhance athletic performance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver strength and conditioning services for student-athletes engaged in various sports.
  • Collaborate with the Director to design and implement both in-season and off-season training regimens.
  • Conduct specialized training sessions aimed at improving sport-specific performance.
  • Provide educational resources regarding nutrition and other relevant topics.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Bachelor's degree in a related field is required, along with a minimum of two years of direct experience in strength and conditioning within intercollegiate athletics.
  • Possession of a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) credential or an equivalent certification is essential.
  • Current CPR Certification is mandatory.
  • A strong commitment to the Christian mission of the University is expected.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills are necessary.
  • Attention to detail, strong organizational abilities, and the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively are required.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed to fulfill job responsibilities.
  • Physical capability to lift and carry weights up to 40 pounds, and to demonstrate exercises effectively.
  • Successful completion of a background check is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with desktop computing is necessary.
  • A valid driver's license is required for travel purposes.
