Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement nutrition care plans in collaboration with healthcare teams to ensure residents receive optimal nutrition and care.
  • Provide nutritional counseling and education to residents and their families to promote healthy eating habits and improve quality of life.
  • Monitor food service operations to ensure compliance with nutritional, safety, and quality standards.
  • Evaluate and document the nutritional status and needs of residents using established standards of care guidelines.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans that meet the unique needs of each resident.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest nutrition research and best practices to provide evidence-based care.

Requirements:

  • Must be a Registered Dietitian or possess a Bachelor of Dietetics degree.
  • Completed an accredited Diabetic internship program preferred.
  • One year of experience as a Registered Dietitian preferred.
  • Knowledge of LARA regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of medical nutrition therapy in a hospital or long-term care facility.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, analyze problems, and identify practical solutions.
  • Must be able to relate to older adults.
  • Ability to organize and perform assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work cooperatively with others in the department and facility.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate well and work with families, volunteers, and the public.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Basic computer knowledge is required.
