Medicaid Eligibility Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Onsite Medicaid Eligibility Representative to join our team at Hospital Referral Services. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for screening and interviewing patients to determine eligibility for Medicaid and other assistance programs.
Key Responsibilities- Review hospital work queues to identify uninsured patients and screen them for eligibility
- Conduct bedside interviews to determine possible eligibility for Medicaid and charity programs
- Complete applications for Medicaid benefits and charity programs as needed
- Maintain a positive working relationship with co-workers, hospital staff, and patients
- Abide by HIPAA rules and regulations to protect patients' privacy
- Meet production goals and objectives as assigned by hospital and management
- Previous customer service experience preferred
- Basic computer skills required
- Ability to multitask and type 40 WPM
- Reliable transportation
- Good attendance and dependability
- Successful completion of drug and background test required
- One week of classroom training covering HIPAA regulations, Revenue Group procedures, and role-playing
