The Department of Entomology & Plant Pathology at Oklahoma State University is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to manage the Laboratory of Insect Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the laboratory, conducting independent scientific research, and training graduate research assistants to perform research, prepare manuscripts, reports, and posters for data dissemination.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the laboratory's day-to-day operations, including supervising graduate research assistants and ensuring the smooth execution of research projects.
- Conduct independent scientific research in the field of insect biochemistry and molecular biology, staying up-to-date with the latest developments and advancements in the field.
- Train and mentor graduate research assistants to perform research, prepare manuscripts, reports, and posters for data dissemination.
- Collaborate with research faculty to achieve the goals of the laboratory, working in a multidisciplinary setting and interacting with students and research faculty from OSU.
- Master's degree in Entomology, Agriculture, or Biochemistry.
- Five years of related work experience, to be determined by the department.
- Ability to maintain and use computers and software for communication, writing reports and proposals, and analyzing data.
- Ability to understand and use experimental design and statistical analysis systems.
- Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Entomology, Agriculture, or Biochemistry.
