Job Title: Environmental Remediation Project Manager

Join the New York State Civil Service team as an Environmental Remediation Project Manager. In this role, you will oversee state-funded and privately funded remedial programs at various sites across New York State.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project management in all project phases, including site investigation and remediation
  • Technical review of site documents, including workplans, RI/FS reports, design documents, and reports to assess compliance with New York State policies and regulations
  • Drafting factsheets, decision documents, and records of decision
  • Interaction with remedial parties, property owners, the public, governmental agencies, and municipal leadership
  • Oversight of remediation sites, remedial consultants, and contractors
  • Review of site conditions and data to assess the nature and extent of contamination
  • Evaluation of remedial alternatives and remedy selection
  • Review of remedial designs and implementation of selected remedies
  • Monitoring of remedy effectiveness
Requirements:
  • Valid driver's license or ability to meet transportation needs
  • Use of personal protection equipment, including a respirator
  • Ability to negotiate difficult terrain
  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions
  • Travel may be required
  • Overtime may be required
  • Overnight travel may be required
