Job Summary

This position is for a Senior Technical Authority who will serve as the technical authority and subject matter expert across related engineering fields for all technical matters in development, qualification, integration, and transition to production.

The selected candidate will provide technical assessment, fact-finding, and information reporting throughout the product life cycle. They will also support acquisition tasks for product development, fully knowledgeable in basic operational and system requirements and system performance.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering and be able to exercise sound judgment and advising leadership concerning the accuracy, completeness, and risk associated with development and production metrics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as technical authority and subject matter expert across related engineering fields for all technical matters in development, qualification, integration, and transition to production.
  • Provide technical assessment, fact-finding, and information reporting throughout the product life cycle.
  • Support acquisition tasks for product development, fully knowledgeable in basic operational and system requirements and system performance.
  • Monitor development and production metrics (schedule, cost, technical) and exercise sound judgment and advising leadership concerning the accuracy, completeness, and risk associated with the data.
  • Identify gaps in resources, available information, or deviation from performance to plan objectives, and recommend approaches for mitigating risk and resolving problems.
  • Assist with the development of technical process instructions, standard operating procedures, and plans related to product development, production, and in-service projects.

Requirements:

  • At least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-9/11 grade level or DP-03 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
  • Successful completion of a professional engineering degree or current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.
