Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Technician to join our team at SIG. As a Quality Technician, you will be responsible for conducting inspections, tests, and measurements on finished and semi-finished products in a timely manner. You will record results of all inspections, tests, measurements, and notify appropriate personnel of any out of specification conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect samples and perform inspections, tests, and measuring in accordance with published control plans.
  • Generate nonconformance reports in accordance with published procedures regarding control of non-conformances.
  • Generate reports documenting all measurement, inspection, testing results, and actions taken when results do not meet specifications.
  • Maintain the QA Incoming Area and QA Lab to appropriate cleanliness and orderliness standards.
  • Perform receiving inspections in accordance with published procedures and record/report results.
  • Support or fill in for Quality Inspector in their shift.
  • Ensure all inspection, measuring, and test equipment is handled with care, kept clean, and stored properly when not in use. Report any issues immediately.
  • Store samples, retains, standards, records in accordance with standard procedures.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or G.E.D required.
  • Or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience as a quality control inspector preferred. Previous experience in FDA regulated industries preferred.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Ability to work all shifts and perform overtime.
  • Future training and/or education may be necessary to further job skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and Power Point presentations.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units or measures, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Basic skill knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to perform visual inspection process and successfully read and apply technical material including print specifications.
Position Eligibility
  • Must have been in their current role for six (6) months.
  • Met or exceeded performance expectations on their last review.
  • Be clear of any written warnings for the last six (6) months.
  • Be clear from probation or suspension for the last six (6) months.
