We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Therapist to join our team at the University of New Mexico - Hospitals. As a Clinical Therapist, you will provide a wide range of psychosocial evaluation/assessment, diagnostic, counseling therapy, crisis intervention, and/or case management services in a high-intensity clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide Counseling and Therapy Services: Provide counseling, therapy, and/or psychotherapy to clients and families as appropriate to the position.
- Develop Treatment Plans: Prepare treatment plans, discharge plans, and follow up care programs.
- Consult with Other Professionals: Consult with other therapists and related professional and paraprofessional staff, as appropriate, in the performance of therapeutic and/or casework.
- Provide Emergency Services: Provide and/or arrange for therapeutic interventions to include but not limited to emergency services and crisis intervention for individuals with serious emotional or behavioral disturbances.
- Refer Clients to Appropriate Agencies: Refers clients to appropriate social service agencies for financial assistance and other required services.
- Document Client Progress: Follow up to determine reliability of treatment used; change method and degree of therapy when appropriate.
- Prepare Documentation for Legal Proceedings: Prepare related timely documentation for civil commitment hearings or other legal proceedings.
- Perform Administrative Functions: Perform various administrative functions such as monitoring expenditures and preparing reports and correspondence.
- Provide Clinical Supervision: Provide clinical supervision to lower level therapists and/or graduate social work students/interns, as appropriate.
- Enhance Professional Growth: Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, reading current literature, attending in-services, meetings and workshops.
- Master's Degree: Master's Degree in a related field.
- Experience: 3 years directly related experience, documented experience in age-appropriate environment.
- Credentials: LPCC/CMHC or LCSW or LMFT in New Mexico.
The Clinical Therapist will work in a fast-paced clinical environment and may be exposed to biohazardous materials. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, and will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
