Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Pipefitter and Welder to join our team at Large HVAC Contractor. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing piping systems in various industrial and commercial settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with our Foreman to ensure all piping aspects of the job are completed to the highest standards.
  • Use technical drawings, diagrams, and specifications to complete tasks accurately and efficiently.
  • Assist with the coordination of pre-fabrication layout and installation, ensuring all materials are properly tagged and labeled.
  • Maintain current knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Assist with rigging and moving materials, and comply with all OSHA regulations and company safety protocols.
  • Perform routine maintenance on rental and company-owned welding equipment, and notify the Foreman when stock is low.
  • Layout work ahead of welders, and prepare all pipe and fittings for welding.
  • Work alongside welders to hold and position pipe/fittings to be welded, and assist with screens to protect others from flash burns.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (experience may be substituted for education).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in pipefitting and welding.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to resolve conflicts professionally.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, walk, climb, and remain in static positions for the duration of the shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds without assistance.
  • Valid driver's license and access to transportation to drive to various job site locations.
