As a Medical Support Specialist at BioLife Plasma Services, you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and safety of plasma collected from donors. Your expertise in medical procedures and patient care will be essential in determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, and reviewing laboratory test results. You will work closely with the Center Manager and Center Physician to ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, medical history interview, and physical examination.
- Manage donor adverse events, including reaction evaluation and reporting.
- Review laboratory test results, including Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
- Support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and refer to EHS guidance as needed.
- Participate in pandemic response and support investigations as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent, including a graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program.
- Current licensure or certification as an EMT-P Paramed in the state where responsibilities will be assigned.
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification.
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Satisfactorily complete FDA-approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
