Job Summary

The Restorative Nurse is a key member of our care team, responsible for developing, implementing, and supervising the restorative nursing program at Aperion Care International. This role requires a strong understanding of restorative nursing principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement restorative nursing plans of care for residents, in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team.
  • Conduct regular assessments of residents' functional abilities and develop strategies to improve their mobility and independence.
  • Collaborate with therapists to ensure that restorative nursing measures are reflected in the care plan and that specific recommendations are carried through.
  • Oversee the implementation of incontinent management programs and ensure that all proper ADL documentation has been completed for patients.
  • Attend care planning conferences and make recommendations to ensure that residents receive the highest quality of care.
  • Coordinate with Human Resources and the Director of Nursing to orient new staff relative to roles, responsibilities, principles, and practices of restorative nursing.
  • Participate in physical restraint reduction and fall management programs, and actively promote a restorative nursing philosophy among facility departments.
Requirements
  • 3-5 years of Restorative Nursing experience is required.
  • Current Restorative Nurse certification in accordance with state regulations is preferred.
  • The incumbent must be a nurse currently registered with the State Board of Nursing.
  • Current CPR certification is required.
Working Conditions

The physical demands of this role include the ability to move intermittently throughout the workday, cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position, and function independently with flexibility and personal integrity.
