Job Description

As a Home Visitor with the Mid Michigan Community Action Agency, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of families with young children. This role involves working closely with families in their homes, providing support and guidance to help them reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Director in coordinating and implementing the Early Head Start program, ensuring compliance with Head Start Program Performance Standards and state and federal mandates.
  • Ensure quality program service delivery, protecting the privacy of customers/families and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Work collaboratively with the Home Base Team and Component Coordinators to meet program and departmental goals, ensuring all areas of service are in compliance and continually improving.

Specific Duties:

  • Provide weekly in-home visits with families, promoting effective parent-child interactions and supporting the family home as the primary learning environment.
  • Execute identified home-based curriculum to fidelity, facilitating Family Partnership Agreements and Parent, Family, and Community Engagement Goal Assessments.
  • Conduct ongoing child assessments, using results to plan for individualization and ensuring the engagement of families through active participation in in-home visits, socialization, and parent meeting experiences.
  • Collaborate with community partners to deliver quality services to children and families, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to a code of ethics.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or a related field.
  • Minimum 1 year experience working with young children and families, with Early Head Start/Head Start experience preferred.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively, presenting information to community groups and maintaining a solid knowledge base concerning child development and family services.
