Special Education Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Special Education Paraprofessional to join our team at Towns County School District.
Job Summary:The Special Education Paraprofessional will provide support to students with special needs in a classroom setting. This role will involve assisting the classroom teacher with lesson plans, supervising students, and performing various administrative tasks.
Responsibilities:- Assist the classroom teacher with lesson plans and instructional activities.
- Supervise students during class time and provide individual support as needed.
- Perform administrative tasks such as data collection, record keeping, and ordering supplies.
- Assist with student assessment and grading.
- Participate in class field trips and other educational activities.
- Assist with classroom housekeeping and maintenance.
- Meet one of the following requirements: hold an associate's degree or higher, have completed two years of college coursework, or have passed the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment.
- Experience working with children and good judgment skills.
- Good childcare skills and ability to work with students of varying abilities.
- Skills in student management and organization.
The Special Education Paraprofessional will work in a classroom setting with students of varying abilities. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, and will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
