Position Overview:

This role is designated for a Surface Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor within the National Guard framework.


Location:

Unit Training Equipment Site (UTES), Hawaii Army National Guard.


Key Responsibilities:

The primary objective of this position is to oversee personnel directly or through subordinate leaders in executing maintenance tasks efficiently.

  • Plan and organize work operations that are extensive and complex.
  • Establish the sequence, priority, and timing for various operations while adhering to broad schedules.
  • Allocate resources, including personnel and equipment, on a weekly or monthly basis.
  • Set deadlines and priorities, and assign tasks based on operational readiness.
  • Investigate and resolve work-related issues, implementing corrective measures as necessary.
  • Develop and enforce compliance with standard operating procedures.
  • Participate in readiness evaluations and inspections.

Qualifications:

Applicants must demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of maintenance operations and possess the ability to lead and manage a team effectively.

  • General Experience: Knowledge of equipment and the ability to perform routine maintenance tasks.
  • Specialized Experience: A minimum of 36 months of experience in planning and directing work assignments for lower-grade personnel.

Physical and Working Conditions:

This position requires physical stamina and the ability to work in various environments, both indoors and outdoors, often under challenging conditions.

  • Frequent lifting and carrying of items weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Exposure to adverse weather conditions and potentially hazardous materials.

Additional Requirements:

Must be capable of obtaining the necessary security clearance and meet specific military technician compatibility standards.
