Summary
ABC and LOL Child Care Center and Preschool is in search of a dedicated full-time Senior Infant Educator who is passionate about nurturing and guiding our youngest learners. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of two years of relevant experience, along with a college-level education. A positive demeanor and enthusiasm for early childhood education are essential qualities we seek.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage in effective communication with colleagues and families.
- Exhibit strong time management skills.
- Model appropriate behaviors and communication techniques for children.
- Maintain consistent attendance in the workplace.
- Build and sustain positive relationships with children and their families.
- Design and implement weekly classroom activities that promote age-appropriate learning.
- Keep an updated record of children's dietary restrictions and individual needs.
- Complete daily reports for parents, including any incidents or accidents.
- Collaborate with the co-teacher to ensure a clean and sanitary environment.
- Create monthly newsletters to inform families about upcoming events and classroom activities.
- Conduct parent-teacher conferences biannually.
Qualifications
- Applicants must be at least 20 years old and meet one of the following educational criteria:
- Possess an associate's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child/Human Services, Child/Human Development, Elementary Education, or Child/Family Services;
- Hold a VT Early Childhood Career Ladder level 3 certificate;
- Complete 21 college-level credits focused on early education or a related field;
- Have a Child Care Certificate from CCV;
- Obtain a Certificate of Completion from the Registered Child Care Apprenticeship Program.
- Additionally, candidates must have two years of experience working with children aged three and younger.
- Training and certification requirements include:
- A minimum of 50 hours of professional development annually, maintaining current First Aid and CPR certifications, and completing the following trainings:
- VT orientation training
- Mandated reporting
- Medication administration
- Basic specialized care
- ACT 1 - Understanding Child Sexual Abuse
- STRONG Trainings
- Compliance with all guidelines and policies outlined in the staff handbook, including familiarity with the Child Care Licensing Regulations set by the state of Vermont. A background records check and fingerprint check are mandatory.
