Responsibilities- Obtain, review, and reconcile client data to prepare sales and use tax returns.
- Efficiently and timely import data into sales tax compliance software to prepare/process sales tax returns.
- Supervise timely delivery of all sales tax compliance functions.
- Actively document and review sales and use tax compliance processes.
- Provide process improvement recommendations and execute approved process improvements.
- Directly work with clients to resolve sales and use tax compliance-related matters.
- Assist clients in setting up sales and use tax decision matrices in sales tax calculation engines.
- Assist with multi-state sales and use tax registration projects.
- Work closely with external software vendors to create efficiency in sales and use tax compliance processes.
- Assist with new client onboarding.
- 3 years of Tax Compliance and/or Supervision experience.
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Previous experience in performing tax research and technical tax return review required.
- Experience in training and supervising junior staff.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Solid analytical and mathematical skills.
- Great interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Highly organized.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA and/or CMI.
- Previous experience working with Vertex cloud-based sales and use tax preparation software solutions.
- Previous experience working with sales and use tax preparation software solutions of other vendors.
