Job Title: Manufacturing IT Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing IT Specialist to support our production processes and ensure the smooth operation of CNC machinery. The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting technical issues, implementing and maintaining IT solutions, and working closely with production teams to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.

Key Responsibilities:

  • CNC Machine Support:
    • Learn the operation and maintenance of various CNC machines, including saws, sanders, and routers.
    • Troubleshoot issues with CNC machinery to minimize downtime and ensure production efficiency.
    • Perform regular software maintenance and updates to CNC equipment.
  • Software Integration:
    • Assist in the integration of software with CNC machines, particularly with Microvellum, Woodwop, and Innergy.
    • Work closely with the engineering and IT teams to ensure seamless communication between CNC machines and software systems.
    • Provide support for software updates and troubleshoot software-related issues.
  • Programming Custom Parts:
    • Utilize basic programming skills to program custom parts that will be run on the CNC machines.
    • Ensure that all custom programs are optimized for efficiency and accuracy.
    • Collaborate with design and engineering teams to translate part specifications into CNC programs.
  • Technical Assistance:
    • Serve as a point of contact for machine operators, providing technical support and training on CNC equipment and software.
    • Update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for CNC machine operation, software use, and custom programming.
    • Collaborate with vendors and suppliers for technical support and parts procurement as needed.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance the performance and reliability of CNC machinery.
    • Stay updated on the latest developments in CNC technology, software, and programming techniques, and recommend upgrades as appropriate.
    • Setup and maintain a training program for shop floor related systems

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Relevant certifications or experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Prior experience with CNC machinery and/or manufacturing equipment is required.
  • Preferred experience with CNC software such as Microvellum, Woodwop.
  • Basic knowledge of ERP, MES, MRP systems
  • Basic programming skills required for creating custom CNC parts.
  • Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies quickly.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed to support production schedules.
