Role Summary:
The Packaging Operator plays a vital role in the collaborative packaging process. This includes operating automated packaging and production machinery, diagnosing equipment malfunctions, making minor adjustments, or reaching out to the appropriate personnel for assistance, and supporting operator preventive maintenance and cleanliness of all related machinery. The individual in this position is responsible for monitoring both equipment and food in accordance with Aspire Bakeries standards, making necessary adjustments, and executing all tasks essential for smooth daily operations. The Packaging Operator is also accountable for fostering a safe working environment for themselves, their colleagues, and our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that food products meet established quality standards.
- Package food items both manually and using machinery.
- Operate and fine-tune machinery and equipment to guarantee precision and adherence to food specifications.
- Maintain equipment settings and ensure that supplies are adequately stocked.
- Keep work areas, machinery, and equipment clean and organized, consistently adhering to safety regulations.
- Report and take necessary actions to uphold food safety and prevent quality issues; communicate safety, quality, production, maintenance, and hygiene concerns to relevant personnel.
- Maintain continuous compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Follow the packaging work schedule and running orders diligently.
- Perform additional duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of equipment and products.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment and product issues.
