Job Description

The Compensation and Financial Reporting Expert assists the Finance department and accounting staff with various tasks and projects. This individual will track and research accounting issues and handle daily transactions. This role works closely with all internal business units to aid in their financial tracking.

Responsibilities

  • Data Entry: Manage day-to-day transactions by inputting financial data into accounting software, including invoices, receipts, journal entries, and other financial transactions.
  • Accounts Payable: Process and manage accounts payable transactions, including recording invoices, verifying expenses, processing payments, and reconciling vendor statements.
  • Accounts Receivable: Manage accounts receivable activities, including generating invoices, monitoring payments from customers, reconciling accounts, and following up on overdue payments.
  • General Ledger: Assist with general ledger accounting tasks, such as posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, and ensuring accuracy of financial records.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements with company records in EPIC to ensure accuracy of cash balances and identify any discrepancies.
  • Expense Management: Process employee expense reports, verify expenses, and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • 3-5+ years experience in an insurance corporate setting preferred.
  • Proficiency with computerized accounting software and MS Office.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to detect inconsistencies.
  • Strong organizational ability.
  • Ability to prioritize and self-manage workload.
  • Team player, highly motivated, and detail-oriented.
  • Quickly adaptable to fast-paced environments.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work independently.
