Work Commitment: 40 HOURS PER WEEK

Schedule: (Mon/Wed/Fri) or (Tues/Thurs/Sat) & Alternate Sundays

Employment Type: NON-EXEMPT FROM OVERTIME

Reports To: CLINICAL DIRECTOR OF STUDENT LIVING

The Night Watch Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing the night-watch mentors and ensuring the safety and security of students during the night hours. This position involves fulfilling various responsibilities and training night-watch mentors to meet the organization's needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruit and train new mentors
  • Participate in weekly training sessions regarding Telos' policies and procedures with staff
  • Establish reward and disciplinary measures for on-shift mentors
  • Develop night watch mentor shift schedules
  • Coordinate planned activities and appointments
  • Receive training in medication administration in accordance with Telos' guidelines
  • Administer and document medications as prescribed by healthcare professionals
  • Complete shift records for each student by the end of the shift
  • Assist in leading procedures for students who are absent without leave (AWOL)
  • Supervise mentors and students during emergency situations
  • Conduct searches of students upon admission, after off-campus passes, and when AWOL students return
  • Uphold Telos security and visitation policies
  • Provide necessary training to night watch mentors, at least once a month
  • Communicate and report to the Residential Director/Executive Director
  • Fulfill all mentor responsibilities
  • Monitor and enforce lights-out and bedtime protocols
  • Implement student rules as necessary
  • Support other Telos departments in various roles (e.g., nursing, cleaning, maintenance, answering phones) as staffing allows
  • Engage in assigned committees or special projects
  • Complete additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Punctual and dependable
  • Minimum of six months experience in a behavioral health-related field
  • Ability to maintain appropriate boundaries
  • Willingness to accept feedback
  • Capability to follow instructions
  • Genuine concern for the well-being of others
  • Ability to remain alert and perform duties throughout the night
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Capacity to train staff effectively

Restrictions:

  • No sleeping during shifts
  • No abandonment of assigned areas
  • Must provide personal food or consume designated snacks
  • Only one headphone may be used at a time during shifts, at a low volume
