Museum Curator

We are seeking a highly skilled Museum Curator to join our team at the U.S. Department of the Interior. As a key member of our cultural heritage team, you will be responsible for providing professional and technical direction for our museum collection program.

• Develop and implement museum collection programs and plans.
• Organize and maintain the collections, ensuring proper preservation, security, and research laboratory conditions.
• Provide technical advice and assistance to staff and cooperators.
• Manage the park's archives and provide authoritative technical direction.

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.
• Meet Selective Service Registration Act requirement for males.
• Participate in the Direct Deposit Electronics Funds Transfer Program.
• Operate a government motor vehicle as part of official duties.

To qualify for this position, you must possess at least one of the following minimum qualifications:

• At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-09 grade level.
• Successful completion of at least 3 years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in museum work or an applicable subject-matter field.
• A combination of education and experience as described above.
