Job Overview

Reports To: Facility Manager

Education: High School Diploma or GED

Experience: At least one (1) year in maintenance and facilities repair

Compensation: $20.00 per hour

The Facility Maintenance role is essential for ensuring the upkeep and functionality of all facilities managed by Pinnacle Community Services, Inc. This position has the potential to transition into full-time employment.

Agency Requirements:

  • Valid New York State Driver's License and Registration
  • Access to a vehicle for transporting equipment
  • Availability for a flexible schedule
  • Emergency response capability

Benefits Offered:

  • Health insurance with an HRA account (80% of the deductible covered), including vision and dental plans (coverage begins on the first day of the month following 30 days of service)

Key Skills:

  • Proficient in general building maintenance and repair tasks

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine repairs including plumbing, carpentry, painting, and basic electrical work, which may involve physical activities such as lifting and carrying
  • Assist with and provide guidance on maintenance-related issues
  • Transport agency equipment, furniture, and files as needed
  • Handle agency donations
  • Report safety or maintenance concerns to the Facility Manager
  • Provide necessary tools for tasks when agency equipment is unavailable
  • Address emergency repairs, including incidents like break-ins or flooding
  • Recommend contractors for specialized work when necessary
  • Maintain smoke and CO2 detectors, replacing batteries and units as required
  • Perform landscaping and groundskeeping duties, including lawn care and weeding
  • Execute janitorial tasks such as trash collection and cleaning windows
  • Change light bulbs and perform other tasks requiring ladder use
  • Set up and dismantle equipment for meetings and events
  • Monitor facilities and report maintenance needs to the supervisor
  • Clean bathrooms and offices as needed, including vacuuming and waste removal
  • Provide snow removal and salting for agency properties when necessary
  • Meet regularly with the Facility Manager for supervision
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding agency matters
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by administration

Physical and Environmental Demands:

  • Standing, walking, sitting, and using hands for tasks
  • Reaching, climbing, and balancing
  • Kneeling, crouching, and crawling
  • Effective communication abilities
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Interaction with coworkers and contractors
  • Occasional weekend or evening work for emergency coverage
  • Travel between various agency sites
