Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at Intermountain Health Orem Community Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical services to pediatric patients with speech, language, and communication disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Screen, test, evaluate, diagnose, and treat disorders of speech, language, cognitive communication, voice, and swallowing in pediatric patients.
  • Consult, educate, and train patients and their caregivers on effective communication strategies and techniques.
  • Provide clinical services utilizing standards of care and evidence-based practices, with appropriate goals, duration, and intensity of service for each patient's needs.
  • Comply with department and regulatory requirements and guidelines for all types of documentation, charging, and scheduling.
  • Supervise and educate colleagues, new employees, and students in training, as well as mentor student clinician externships and new employees.
  • Maintain effective and appropriate communication and relationships with other professionals, patients, families, and caregivers.
  • Participate in patient care conferences and staff meetings as required or requested by supervisor.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Current state Speech Pathologist license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers.
  • Basic computer skills, including word processing and email.
  • Current certificate of clinical competence.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Speech Pathology experience, particularly in pediatric settings.
  • Hospital experience, preferably in pediatric departments.
  • Experience working with the target population to be treated.
