Behavioral Health Care Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Mental Health Technician to join our dynamic team of healthcare professionals at CJW Medical Center, comprised of Chippenham Hospital and Johnston-Willis Hospital.
CJW Medical Center has served the greater Richmond Virginia area for over 100 years, offering services in orthopedics, joint care, behavioral health, cancer care, and neurology. Our campuses have been recognized as a top performer on Key Quality Measures.
This role will work under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and assist the nursing staff in providing patient care within the Behavioral Health Department. The successful candidate will provide behavioral health care interventions utilizing the least restrictive interventions that are consistent with a culture of recovery and Trauma Informed Care.
The estimated salary for this position is $44,000 - $55,000 per year, based on the national average for similar roles in the United States.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Collect and document patient behavioral and clinical data and observations
- Perform vital signs, assist patients with activities of daily living, and assists with treatments or procedures within documented level of competency
- Provide for the safety of patients, visitors, and staff by completing routine and special safety checks
**Requirements:**
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date
- High School Graduate / GED
