Nurse Manager

Mass General Brigham is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Manager to lead our Outpatient Department in Chelsea, Massachusetts.
Job Summary:The Nurse Manager will be responsible for coordinating clinical, educational, and administrative activities of the various sub-specialty areas within the unit, including Extracorporeal Photopheresis, Hematopoietic Progenitor Cell Collection, MNC Collection Outpatient Transfusion & Infusion, and Therapeutic Phlebotomy/Autologous whole blood collection.
Key Responsibilities:- Serves as a clinical resource in the management of patient care.
- Supports primary nursing and the active participation of the clinical staff.
- Assesses, observes, supervises, demonstrates, and evaluates patient care.
- Maintains patient standards, policies, and practices of the department.
- Coordinates communication and planning between nursing and other department members.
- Participates in departmental and service quality assurance efforts.
- Hires, trains, and supervises all staff (RN's, LPN's, and Medical Assistants).
- Assigns and adjusts staffing as necessary.
- Makes recommendations for staffing patterns to the Medical Director.
- Counsels individual staff members as appropriate.
- Initiates disciplinary action as appropriate.
- Works with the Medical Director and Administrative Director to determine the annual budget.
- Collaborates with the Apheresis Quality Specialist to ensure quality control processes are carried out and documented in a timely fashion.
- Maintains all records for review by the Medical Director, Quality Officers, Administrative Director, and any/all Investigatory Bodies.
- Baccalaureate degree in nursing or higher degree in nursing required.
- Master's degree in nursing or in business administration preferred.
- Apheresis experience or Dialysis experience, preferred.
- Critical Care Nursing Experience, preferred.
- Five to six years of medical-surgical nursing required.
