Position Overview

The Orthopedics Unit at Catholic Health Initiatives is a specialized 22-bed facility dedicated to the care of orthopedic patients, recognized for excellence in total hip and knee replacement procedures.

As an Orthopedic Care Nurse, you will play a crucial role in supporting patients through their post-surgical recovery. Your ability to build rapport with patients and their families will be essential as you anticipate their needs, monitor their progress, and provide attentive care. Remember, while you may be experienced in these procedures, for many patients, this is their first encounter with such surgery.

Incentives for Registered Nurses:
- $25,000 sign-on bonus for full-time positions, pro-rated for part-time

Educational Support:
- Up to $10,000 for full-time employees, distributed over five years

Incentives for Licensed Practical Nurses:
- $5,000 sign-on bonus for full-time positions, pro-rated for part-time

Key Responsibilities
- Provide comfort and reassurance to patients who may feel anxious or disoriented post-surgery, fostering a safe and healing environment.
- Engage in a dynamic work setting while meticulously attending to patient details across the unit.
- Welcome incoming patients and ensure they receive the necessary medications for effective pain management.
- Clearly communicate with families and patients regarding home care instructions and their hospital stay.
- Collaborate with a dedicated team of nursing professionals who prioritize patient welfare.

Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license applicable in our state.
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Compensation
- Competitive pay rate of $52.20 per hour.
