Job Overview

AZTEC Engineering Group is in search of a Railway Project Engineer to enhance our dynamic team. This position plays a crucial role within AZTEC's Rail and Transit division, engaging in significant projects across North America, particularly in California, encompassing high-speed rail, commuter rail, metro systems, light rail, streetcars, and bus rapid transit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and coordinate railway and transit engineering designs, including detailed plans and specifications.
  • Oversee the successful execution of rail and transit engineering projects, ensuring adherence to budget and timelines while achieving high customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare and manage all necessary design documents, reports, inspections, and client communications effectively.
  • Meet project deadlines and client expectations consistently.
  • Assist Senior Project Managers throughout the project lifecycle to ensure timely completion of documentation.
  • Conduct preparation and verification of design calculations, quantities, cost estimates, specifications, and project plans.
  • Utilize available guidelines while adapting them to meet specific project needs.
  • Provide support to the TYPSA Group Railway Department on international projects as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Rail and Transit projects, preferably with California transportation agencies.
  • Possession of California P.E. certification or the ability to obtain it within six months of employment.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and MicroStation software.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project).
  • Valid Driver's License with the ability to maintain insurability under company policies.
  • Experience with Primavera and Project Wise software is advantageous.
  • Local experience in California is highly desirable.
