Commonpoint Queens is seeking a dedicated HSE Instructor to join our Opportunity Youth Program team. As an HSE Instructor, you will play a vital role in providing contextualized instruction in ELA, Social Studies, Science, and Math to an opportunity youth population.

Job Summary:

The HSE Instructor will develop and implement lesson plans, facilitate instruction, and assess student progress. You will work closely with the Director of Education to ensure that our program participants receive the support and guidance they need to succeed.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to the diverse learning styles of our program participants.
  • Facilitate instruction in Math and Science, using a variety of methodologies to engage and motivate students.
  • Assess student progress and provide regular feedback to students and staff.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum that meets the needs of our program participants.
  • Attend instructional workshops and learning communities to stay up-to-date on best practices and industry developments.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Education or a comparable field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience teaching young adult learners.
  • Knowledge of ABE and GED curricula, testing procedures, and requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability in youth development and education.
