Position Overview: The Industrial Maintenance Specialist plays a crucial role in the installation, disassembly, assembly, troubleshooting, diagnosis, repair, and upkeep of machinery and equipment utilized in the manufacturing and conversion of corrugated board. This position is vital for ensuring that all machinery operates efficiently and adheres to operational and specification standards. The Specialist is responsible for maintaining optimal production, quality, and safety standards in line with our internal customers' expectations.

Qualifications:
  • Associate degree in mechanical technology or a related discipline is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting is preferred.
Key Responsibilities of the Industrial Maintenance Specialist:
  • Conduct diagnostic testing and troubleshoot equipment and component failures. Start machinery and monitor mechanical operations to identify issues. Disassemble and inspect machinery to ascertain and rectify the cause of malfunctions. Reassemble equipment post-repair or maintenance.
  • Carry out repairs and installations of parts, machinery, and equipment, including bearings, gears, power transmission systems, and more, following all manufacturers' specifications and guidelines.
  • Install or relocate both new and existing machinery.
  • Engage with equipment manufacturers or vendors for technical support as needed.
  • Document production, repairs, and maintenance activities. Complete work orders and maintenance reports.
  • Modify or fabricate tools and equipment using welding techniques as necessary.
  • Manage the disposal of worn machine parts and maintain cleanliness in work areas.
  • Oversee parts, hardware, and tool inventory, notifying purchasing when replenishment is necessary.
  • Calibrate equipment both electronically and mechanically.
  • Assist with spill containment and cleanup efforts.
  • Execute maintenance tasks as per the established preventative maintenance program.
  • Support other maintenance shifts and roles as required.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the maintenance shop.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations.

Knowledge Requirements:
  • Familiarity with corrugated and converting machinery, including their designs and maintenance practices, is preferred.
  • Understanding of mechanical power variables, including speed, power, torque, and horsepower, to evaluate machine efficiency and component replacement needs.
