Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Diesel Fleet Mechanic Technician III to join our team at Sysco. As a key member of our fleet maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing quality preventive maintenance inspections and repairs on our fleet of vehicles and equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform required inspections and preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment to ensure safety, reliability, and cost efficiency.
  • Diagnose and repair complex issues with vehicle systems and components, including electrical, refrigeration, and HVAC systems.
  • Perform quality maintenance repairs and replacements to maximize safety and reliability on all fleet vehicles.
  • Conduct thorough inspections and maintenance on refrigeration units, lift-gates, and other equipment.
  • Address all Driver Vehicle Inspection Report write-ups in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Mentor and train junior technicians to aid in their development and growth within the team.
  • Perform moderate supervisory roles when the Fleet Manager or Fleet Supervisors are not available.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; 2-year degree or technical training preferred.
  • 5 years of experience in fleet maintenance and repair, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • ASE certifications and/or medium/heavy duty truck technical training a plus.
  • Excellent knowledge of vehicle systems, components, and repair techniques.
  • Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Working Conditions:

  • Work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with frequent deadlines and changing priorities.
  • Occasional travel to other Sysco locations or the corporate office may be required.
  • Exposure to extreme temperatures, noise, and physical demands of the job.
