Clinical Nurse Educator

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nurse Educator to join our team at Havenwyck Hospital. As a key member of our nursing education department, you will be responsible for promoting, planning, designing, coordinating, and evaluating training and educational activities for both clinical and non-clinical staff.
Responsibilities- Coordinating with nursing service in designing, evaluating, planning, presenting, and reviewing educational programs to meet the needs of orientation, inservice education, and continuing education of hospital personnel.
- Completing all nursing education in required time frames and ensures compliance with all standards of practice and regulatory requirements.
- Implementing education in order to improve and enhance nursing practice within the Hospital.
- Coordinating and training existing employees on new policies and procedures.
- Coordinating and training RN new hires on the units, monitors and documents progression during the first year of hire.
- Performing the re-training required for staff performance improvement plans as assigned by unit managers.
- Participating in the selection of audiovisual and other resources.
- Providing records of general hospital orientation and mandatory in-service attendance to CNO/ACNO.
- Operating as an alternate Infection Control Nurse when needed to provide appropriate care to patients.
- Scheduling monthly hospital required in-services and follows up with employees and managers to maintain compliance.
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
- Current and valid RN license in the State of Michigan.
- Experience with providing opportunities to refine competencies in nursing practice and the application of administrative principles.
- A minimum of one year of medical-surgical nursing experience and three years of experience in psychiatric nursing teaching patients, families, staff and/or the community.
- Knowledge of instructional skills, skill analysis, and group dynamics.
- Thorough knowledge of techniques and methods of adult education.
- One year of management or Charge RN experience.
