CDM Smith - Construction Project Specialist
CDM Smith is seeking a motivated individual to become part of our team. This role is ideal for recent graduates eager to enter the construction sector at a firm that values long-term careers.

This position encompasses a range of responsibilities tailored to the specific project type and schedule, offering both technical and administrative support in the field.


Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the examination of project documents, preparation of deliverables, and participation in pre-bid site assessments during the proposal phase.
2. Evaluate complex proposals to determine overall project costs, including research on labor, materials, and equipment expenses.
3. Create an initial timeline for engineering and construction activities.
4. Develop General Conditions in accordance with the specifications outlined in the bidding documents.
5. Collaborate with project teams, subcontractors, clients, and stakeholders to ensure projects are completed safely and on schedule.
6. Prepare and review submissions, issue construction documents, respond to inquiries, and fulfill requests for information (RFI).
7. Oversee and guide project activities of varying complexity while interpreting specifications and drawings.
8. Conduct inspections to uphold Quality Control (QC) standards on project sites.
9. Work alongside Health and Safety professionals to assess safety performance metrics of potential subcontractors and vendors.
10. Support project closure by completing all required deliverables and adhering to company procedures.
11. Foster solutions through collaboration with design and project teams utilizing VDC, Building Information Modeling (BIM), and traditional methods.
12. Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is required. No prior experience is necessary. Travel may be required as part of the role. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Familiarity with technology relevant to engineering and construction projects.
- Proficient understanding of construction terminology.
- Capability to read and interpret construction documents and drawings.
- Intermediate personal computer skills.

Travel Requirements:
Approximately 30% travel may be necessary.

Driver's License Requirements:
A valid driver's license is required.
