The Practical Nursing Specialist plays a crucial role in delivering direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). This position is essential in ensuring that patient care objectives are met through effective teamwork.
Key Responsibilities- Assume responsibility and accountability for patient care as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
- Conduct systematic and ongoing non-interpretable data collection, focusing on the physiological, psychosocial, and cognitive aspects of patient health.
- Provide essential hygienic care and assist patients with ambulation and meals as directed by the supervising RN.
- Position patients appropriately and deliver pre-operative, post-operative, and post-mortem care as required.
Ensure a safe environment for patients by promptly responding to call lights and communicating any changes in patient conditions to the RN without delay.
Patient-Centered CareRecognize and address the specific needs of the patient population served, tailoring care to accommodate factors such as age, culture, language, and sensory impairments.
This includes effective communication with patients, parents, and primary caregivers at an appropriate developmental and educational level.
Preferred Qualifications- Possession of a valid New Jersey LPN license.
- Current BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
- Graduation from an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing program.
