Water Resource Control Engineer

Are you passionate about protecting California's water resources? Do you have a strong background in environmental permitting and compliance? We are seeking a highly skilled Water Resource Control Engineer to join our team at the State Water Resources Control Board.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will be responsible for managing National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permits, Waste Discharge Requirements (WDRs), and Water Reclamation Requirements (WRRs) for Publicly Owned Treatment Works (POTWs). This role requires strong analytical and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage NPDES permits, WDRs, and WRRs for POTWs
- Develop and implement environmental permitting and compliance strategies
- Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve permitting and compliance issues
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to colleagues and external partners
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g. environmental engineering, water resources management)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in environmental permitting and compliance
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
