As a Backend Developer concentrating on cloud resource administration, you will be instrumental in the upkeep and enhancement of capacity and quota management frameworks within Apple's cloud environment.

Your contributions will directly enhance the efficiency of cloud resource management, facilitate substantial cost reductions for Apple, and empower teams to swiftly access cloud resources for new product launches and feature implementations.

Collaboration across finance, product, and platform teams will be essential to ensure the stability and performance of existing systems while also laying the groundwork for innovative features.

Role Description: The Apple Services Engineering division is in search of a highly skilled, self-driven development engineer with a profound understanding of cloud resource management.


In this capacity, you will perform code evaluations, pinpoint areas for enhancement, and apply best practices to guarantee code quality and maintainability. Additionally, you will engage in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to quota management systems in live environments.


This position will primarily emphasize the implementation of robust quota enforcement mechanisms to ensure efficient and straightforward resource allocation across Apple's infrastructure.

Furthermore, you will collaborate closely with engineering managers, partners, and stakeholders to comprehend requirements and convert them into technical specifications.


The ideal candidate should possess a strong capacity for acquiring new technologies and the capability to lead complex and demanding projects. The ability to thrive in high-pressure situations is crucial for success in this role. This candidate should have experience working collaboratively, mentoring peers, and spearheading projects.

Essential Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline – or equivalent experience. A minimum of 7 years of backend development experience is required, along with strong programming proficiency in languages such as Golang and Java.

Proven experience as a backend software engineer, particularly in resource management, infrastructure, or similar domains.

Preferred Qualifications: Expertise in database design and management (both SQL and NoSQL). Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is advantageous. Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.

Knowledge of networking and distributed systems principles.
Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities, with meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality code.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the capacity to work independently as well as in a team setting.

Compensation & Benefits: At Apple, base pay is just one component of our comprehensive compensation package and is determined within a specified range.

This provides opportunities for advancement as you grow and develop within your role.

The base pay range for this position is between $175,800 and $312,200, with your base pay influenced by your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the chance to become shareholders through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.

Employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if they voluntarily participate in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
